Ear and chest infection

Billy has been seeming better but not at night, hes been up either wide awake or screaming. He is still coughing but not so bad, still has that much snot he could stick wall paper up with it, i noticed yesterday he was pulling one of his ears and he hasn’t eaten many proper meals for a week.

I decided that maybe it was time for the doc to take a look at him and i am glad i did! A the title says he has a ear and chest infection. He has got antibiotics and a inhaler to help his chest, don’t think we’ll bother with inhaler just yet. Doc actually said i was very lucky he’d not been screaming all the time because his ears were so sore, good job i have such a placid boy.

The challenge now it to get the antibiotics in him, i have already had the sticky horrid stuff dripping from my eye lashes, gave him half via plastic singe and half in some milk…. any other suggestions welcome. Trouble is he only drinks water or milk and blatantly refuses juice so cant disguise it that way

Edit: Seriously i not can not get him to have any of the medicine now, just put him to bed and he spat it all in my face and the remainder 2.5ml went in his milk and he outright refused it. So today i have managed to get one dose in him and i don’t have enough to start wasting it….. who’d have kids hey!

  1. Ear infections are the worst. Porgie screamed and cried ALL DAY LONG. I can’t believe Billy is only crying at night.

Sorry, but I don’t have any recommendations for the medicine. Porgie LOVES taking her medicine.

  2. I’m so sorry! I hope he’s better soon, and that he takes his medicine. Perhaps mix it in something sweet he likes, like yogurt? But then he might refuse that. S&J like taking vitamins and Tylenol so it’s hard to come up with good suggestions.

  3. Hi Em – Sorry Little Billy is feeling so bad. We had a bad night her too with our Princess and an earache – took her today and got drops and antibiotics – we are in the same boat – only she’s six and yours being smaller makes it worse. Hope he feels better soon and you all have a good weekend. See ya.

  4. What about mixing the meds in his cereal. I know he feeds himself so it may be tough-what about some pudding?? I feel for ya-we just got over the ear infection stuff and it stunk. HUGS!!
